Transferring a .uk domain name requires you to change the IPSTAG of the domain name (Ours is: FASTVISION) at Nominet (the organisation that runs the .uk extension uses this to identify registrars). Some domain name providers (registrars) charge their customers to transfer domains to them, sometimes up to four times the domain registration cost.
